A charming and vibrant documentary delving into the popular explosion of Yiddish music in modern-day Europe. Musical performers like Karsten Troyke and Shura Lipovsky discuss how they are inspired by this music and describe how a new generation of Jews and non-Jews is breathing new life into the world of Yiddish music.

Shura Lipovsky

SHURA LIPOVSKY (Amsterdam)
Shura Lipovsky is best-known singers of Yiddish song in Europe. She has also performed and taught in Russia, the USA and Canada. She studied singing at the Rotterdam Conservatory, as well as Jewish mysticism and folkdance. She is widely appreciated for her teaching of the Yiddish song repertoire combined with contextual study of the history and background of the composers and poets. She conducts master classes for singers and workshops in Chasidic dance, song and stories.
